We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientific Officer – Grossing to oversee the daily operations of our grossing team. This role blends technical expertise with leadership to ensure high quality standards, streamlined workflows, and a collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train and mentor grossing technicians to ensure skill, accuracy, and consistent performance
- Allocate daily workflow and ensure turnaround times are met
- Provide technical guidance, training and competency assessments for grossing personnel.
- Oversee grossing activities meet RCPA cut-up guidelines and laboratory standards.
- Ensure tissue handling, equipment use, and cleaning procedures are followed correctly
- Maintain documentation and monitor quality, maintain audit readiness, and ensure compliance with NATA and laboratory procedures
- Liaise with scientific officers, registrars, pathologists, and other lab sections to maintain smooth workflow
You are highly knowledgeable in grossing and enjoy maintaining a positive environment even during busy periods.
