Job Description

Are you looking to be part of an innovative and growing team? We’re searching for a Specimen Reception Aide (SRA) to join our agile Histology department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career in pathology, with full training and support provided. You'll play a key role in the team and your responsibilities will include:

  • Specimen Reception & data entry: Accurately receive, verify, and log specimens, ensuring they are correctly documented and labelled.
  • Specimen Management: Prioritize and manage specimens with specific storage needs, and input accurate doctor and billing details into the system.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Resolve discrepancies, address issues, and manage sensitive patient information with care and confidentiality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with lab staff and administrative teams to keep things running smoothly, ensuring a seamless workflow.

What we’re Looking For:

  • Full-time availability for rostered shifts from 4am – 12 pm, Monday to Friday. Please note, there may be some overtime in response to business demand. 
  • A motivated, detail-oriented, and organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong data entry skills, with the ability to accurately enter and maintain patient and specimen information in laboratory systems (e.g., PowerPath).
  • Team player: You enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to a supportive team culture.
  • Experience with specimen reception or lab systems (like PowerPath) is an advantage, but not essential—we’ll train you!
